Emphasizing that MS is a serious disease, Meriç Demir Kahraman explained that during their 11-year marriage, her husband had to go to the hospital frequently due to sudden attacks. She stated that they had to have MRIs in the middle of the night and that Tayfun Kahraman had periods when he could not walk, speak or write due to unpredictable MS attacks.

Meriç Demir Kahraman, who stated that prison conditions not only disrupt health monitoring but also negatively affect the course of the disease, said that MS patients should get plenty of sun. He said that due to prison conditions, Tayfun Kahraman's vitamin D level in his body was not at the level that doctors wanted, despite taking external supplements.

How is Tayfun Kahraman's health? | His wife Meriç Demir Kahraman explained

Meriç Demir Kahraman said that her husband Tayfun Kahraman is innocent and has been held in prison for 38 months without being charged. Stating that their family has been living with this situation for over 3 years, Meriç Demir Kahraman described the process they are going through as “injustice and oppression.”

Emphasizing that it would be right, necessary, humane and fair for Tayfun Kahraman to go to the doctor's check-ups freely and with his family, Meriç Demir Kahraman asked, "Can an innocent person's health be toyed with like this? Can a person be kept in a cell for 38 months, separated from his family, even though it is known that he is innocent?"

Stating that Tayfun Kahraman has been receiving MS treatment and follow-up since 2005, his wife thanked all the doctors, nurses and hospital staff. Kahraman expressed his gratitude to everyone who was concerned about his wife's health, who called and wrote.

Meriç Demir Kahraman, who stated that Tayfun Kahraman, who was sent to the hospital yesterday (June 18), was taken for control purposes and that she learned that the test results would be sent from the hospital to the prison, said that they will have to wait 3 months for the MRI scan.

Meriç Demir Kahraman concluded her statement by saying, “Our demand is very simple, very legitimate and very concrete: Justice and the right to a healthy life.”
